Holy Smokes!…all of a sudden, my babies are 10 years old! When did THAT happen? They are just growing up so darned fast and I fully realize that I missed some real quality time in summer’s past…shooting weddings every weekend and back-to-back portrait sessions during the week. When my 5 yo twins said “Mama, we miss you” years ago after yet another weekend away shooting weddings, I realized something had to change. I quit weddings and have been sticking with portrait sessions during the week ever since. After all, summer in Montana is only 3 months long!
So, we’ve been having a blast despite the freaky weather and it seems that when it really matters, the sun has been shining…well mostly. We’ve been attending local parades & rodeos, block parties & BBQ’s, dining al fresco whenever possible and taking evening dips at Chico. We’ve been training our horses and going for rides on the ranch. We are enjoying the lazy days of summer, but mostly each other and although I love this time in our lives, I sometimes wish I could turn back the clock and cradle my babies in my arms once again…

So here’s my {not so lil’} Cowboy, Sam at the Wilsall Rodeo where our family spent an awesome Father’s Day. Ain’t he a cutie patootie? And be sure to check out my new western site & blog at www.susannsaarelthewest.com. I’ll be posting Wilsall Parade & Rodeo images real soon! Yee Haw!!
